Summary
Godard and the Wheel

As a filmmaker Janine is shocked that young adults cannot ‘read’ Godard-ian moviemaking anymore. Nynke has to explain her students the many layers hidden in MTV-clips or advertising. Visuals are extremely present in society so, why do we allow visual literacy to erode and what can we do about that?

The workshop will show a variety of visual examples that they use in their teaching environments to surprise and enlighten the future generation of image makers and users. Unfortunally they need to reinvent the wheel fitst in order to be able to play with conventions and expand visual grammar in a meaningful way.
